6.6 Tired of boring vacations? Try Italy for an adventure your taste buds will never forget. By Tamsyn E. Hudack

Ever since I was in high school, I’ve longed to visit Italy. I even used to grade my math assignments in Italian because I loved the country and the language so much. This obsession has made Italy the "ultimate travel destination" for me.

So, Why Italy?

The two main reasons I would want to go to Italy amid many other reasons are:

  • The food
  • The sights

Pizza, Pasta, and More
While pizza might be everyone's first thought when they think of Italian food, there are many other delicious options for consumption while vacationing in Italy. Though pizza will forever be #1 in my heart.

The Walks of Italy page also recommends tasty options include lasagna, risotto, and carbonara. Not to mention coffee and gelato to help finish off your meal. Flavor is something that you'll never be short on during this adventure.

The Sights of Venice

While many areas of Italy are incredibly beautiful, I have always been drawn to Venice. Between the canals that weave throughout the city to the awe-inspiring architecture, the city is breathtaking. The Italian Tourism Official Site offers many ideas of what to explore while in the capital of the Veneto region of Italy. My first stop would probably be St. Mark's Basilica because it is so iconic to the area and I'm sure I could make a whole day of exploring all the history that Venice has to offer.

Let's Go!

Whether you're going to Italy for the food, the sights, the history, or just to get away from your mundane day-to-day life, exploring Italy is a trip you're never going to forget.

  1. The images were great in this article. The one of the pizza made me hungry. It seems like it served it's purpose to use an Italian cityscape at night. I do want to see that in person.

An unordered list was used and was formatted correctly and consistently. It may have looked better if there were at least three items on the list.

  2. Great article! I chose Disney World, but Italy was my second option. I agree 💯 about trying their pizza and sights. I definitely want to try their wine! They have many wineries that I would love to check out!
